Is there something you want to do but can’t because of the money?

Is there something you wish to learn, but it costs too much?

Are you already doing something and need a piece of equipment to develop it further?

Well, if you live in Southwark and are aged between 11 and 19 (up to 25 if you have special educational needs or a disability) you can apply for funding up to £500 to help resolve these issues.

You could also submit an application together with a group of friends, schoolmates, or club members.

What will you pay for?

Before you apply, please take the time to read through the criteria. This sets out who is eligible, what we will pay for, and many other questions you may have.

So I just get cash?

No, we will not give you cash; instead, we will pay for the service you want directly or buy the item for you. It is therefore important that you make sure you give us all the information you need at the outset.

Who decides who gets the money?

The decision will be made by a group of young people. To keep it fair, they will not know who submits which application; instead, it will all be done anonymously.

Where does the funding come from?

Southwark Council is paying for the grant from the Positive Activities for Young People Fund. This year, we have £25,000 to give direct to young people.

How quick is the process?

We will decide who gets grants on a monthly basis. The diagram below shows the dates. If you want to get your grant approved in the next round make sure you get it in promptly?
