African Tree Tales

Outdoor event celebrating tree tales from the Maguzawa and Ogiek indigenous traditions of Nigeria and Kenya.
African Tree Tales
We are proud to receive Ogiek land defender Leonard Mindore and Maguzawa oral historian Kamilu Hassan Hamza, who will share traditional stories of the indigenous people of Mau Forest in Kenya and Yarmariya Bush in Nigeria.

This event is organised to celebrate the African diaspora community in London through an appreciation of Nigerian and Kenyan traditional ecological knowledge, and also to raise awareness of the work of some of its most important land defenders.
