Maintenance technician

The Canadian Government are looking for a person who has practical skills to assist in maintaining residential properties owned by the Canadian High Commission in London. If you can turn your hand to a variety of practical tasks e.g. repairs, decorating, carpentry, able to lift and carry reasonable loads, have a can-do attitude, enjoy providing excellent client service and working in a team environment, this could be the right opportunity for you.

Under the general direction and supervision of the Residential Property Manager, the Maintenance Technician provides general maintenance services and assists with and carries out direct repairs. Some examples include but are not limited to: putting up blinds and curtains; regularly descaling and disinfecting taps, showerheads and hoses for legionella prevention; re-dooring bathroom or kitchen cupboards; sanding down and re-staining wood flooring; installing new flooring; re-tiling; renewing plumbing fixtures (taps, showerheads, handrails); installing a new shower tray; unblocking drains; changing door handles and locks; making good to walls and ceilings after a leak; mastic and sealing showers and baths; regrouting; changing light fixtures and plugs.
